Chances of evening showers over West and North TN amidst the relentless heat wave
The heat wave prevailing in Tamilnadu stays put as many regions continue to witness hot days with the mercury hovering around 40° Celsius. Intense heatwave conditions continue to dominate the entire Tamilnadu. The remaining days of May and most of June look to be a scorcher and poised to be one of the warmest periods on record.
There is every chance that temperatures could exceed 40° Celsius mark on a number of occasions.But lets not despair. Relief rain or short spells of rain are expected over some parts of Western and North interior TN today much to the relief of the public and farmers in the region. Chennai and its suburbs may have showers in the evening/late evening.

Chennai – Maximum temperature would be hovering around 40° Celsius. A partly cloudy and a very warm day is expected. Lowest relative humidity would be near 40% in the forenoon and maximum would be 85% around midnight. Chances of an evening shower.
Vellore – Mostly sunny with maximum temperature of 40° Celsius with the chance of a thundershower in the evening. Maximum relative humidity will settle around 75%.
