Depression makes landfall
The Depression which lay off Tamilnadu coast is likely to make landfall close to Mahabalipuram. Most of the clouding of depression has shifted interiors and Now the depression will cross the coast without any major rains.
The depression has brought widespread heavy rains across Tamilnadu in last 18hrs. Many places have recorded above 80mm , while few have received very heavy rains of 150mm+ in last 18hrs.
Scattered rains with short bursts of rain lasting for 5mins will continue till tomorrow morning over coastal areas of Tamilnadu including Chennai city. Winds will also be gusty at time.

After the depression makes landfall, rains may halt for a while over Coastal Tamilnadu including Chennai city. Scattered rains will resume over the same areas by tomorrow evening.
