Hot and dry weather set to continue

Hot and dry weather is expected to continue across much of Tamil Nadu along with the adjoining areas. Temperatures during the day time will remain fairly above normal in the region. With regards to the Monsoon Zone, the rainfall activity is limited to east central India with the presence of a low pressure area near east Uttar Pradesh. Heavy rains is likely in the region under the influence of the aforementioned Low Pressure Area.
The axis of the Monsoon Trough passes through its near normal position dipping south east in north Bay. Meanwhile, an upper air cyclonic circulation is seen aloft in north east bay, under its influence a low pressure area is very likely to form in the same region on the 16th of August. Heavy rains can be expected in the north eastern states as well.

Chennai will continue to experience above normal day time highs and the maximum temperature could settle around 37 C.
Coimbatore should remain pleasant with a day time maximum of 33 C.
Vellore is in for another hot and partly cloudy day with a day time high of 36 C.
Madurai will be hot and sultry with a day time maximum temperature of 37/38 C.
Trichy will remain hot and sultry with a maximum temperature of 36 C.
