Rains to decrease gradually in the next 24 hours

The trough of low at mean sea level over south west bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka persists. Rainfall occurred at few places over South Tamil Nadu due to the aforementioned trough and the same scenario is set to continue in the region over the next 24 hours and subsequently decrease.

North coastal and interior districts will see partly cloudy skies and normal day and night time temperatures.

Chennai can expect a pleasant day with a day time maximum settling close to 30 C

Vellore should have partly cloudy skies with a maximum settling close to the high twenties.

Trichy can expect a partly cloudy sky with a chance of a shower or two at some isolated places and with a day time high of 30 C

Madurai too can expect a partly cloudy sky with day time settling around 29/30 C

Coimbatore can expect a warm day with day time high and night time low settling around 29 and 23 C
