Heavy Rains seen over Delta and South Coastal TN

Yesterday’s Trough of Low pressure at Mean Sea Level (MSL) over SW Bay off the TN coast now runs from Srilanka to SW Bay off North Coastal TN. Another Trough of Low Pressure at MSL over SE Arabian Sea to South Gujarat coast with an upper air circulation over Lakshadweep extending upto 2.1KM above sea level.

Rainfall can be expected to occur over most places over Coastal TN and few places over interior districts. Most of the heavy to very heavy rainfall zones continues to be confined over Delta and South Coastal TN during the next 24 to 48 hours. Districts like Cuddalore and Villupuram may continue to see a decreasing trend in rainfall activity over the next 24 to 48 hours with light to moderate rainfall activity interspersed with a few heavy spells.

City Forecasts

Chennai – Sky condition would generally be cloudy. Light to moderate spells of rains may occur in some areas with a maximum temperature of 29 degrees.

Trichy – Sky condition would generally be cloudy with the possibility of thunderstorms in some areas. Maximum temperature will be around 28 degrees.

Madurai – Sky condition would generally be cloudy with possibility of rains/thunderstorms. Maximum temperatures will be around 27 degrees.

Coimbatore – Sky condition would generally be cloudy to overcast. Light rains may occur in some areas.

Vellore – Generally cloudy sky with some light rains. Maximum temperature will be around 29 degrees.
